18 months

Brekker trying to fit in the cupboard

My baby is 18 months today! It makes me sad to think that he is not going to be a baby for much longer. He is such a funny kid and such a trouble maker. He loves to tease and chase his sister down to hit her. This was one of my favorite ages with Madi but Brekker just might change that :) He definitely keeps us going constantly and we can't let him out of our sight for a minute or we will be finding him dipping his binky and hands in the toilet or climbing on tables and night stands. He is all boy!!!!

Brekker is still not wanting to talk much. He will say momma, dad, papa, and say and sign more and please. He can say more little things but only when HE wants too. He can tell you what a duck, owl, fish and horse says and is absolutely fascinated with horses! He LOVES to go to Papa's and see the mules (he doesn't know the difference :) If you take him inside the house first without letting him go pet the mules he throws a fit. And he can throw a pretty good temper tantrum!

Brekker definitely makes our house exciting and makes it well known when he is around :) Oh how we love him!

First Day of Preschool

Madi had her first day of preschool yesterday and absolutely loved it. She was so excited to go that she kept asking me all morning if it was time. It was her special day so she got to decide what was for breakfast and for lunch. She wanted eggs and toast for breakfast and we had chicken nuggets and french fries for lunch.
She was a little shy when we first got there but after she saw all the toys and the new swing set out back she was off and playing. I was so surprised that I was not crying after I dropped her off. I had braced myself for it all day and I made it. Madi being so brave and excited made it alot easier.

When I picked her up she told me all about her day, her snack and that teachers loves happy faces. She loves teacher CarolAnn and so do I. I am so happy that we were able to move down here so that she can learn from such a great lady.
Madi, I hope everyday is as great as your first! I love you sweetheart!

Labor Day Weekend and Two Wheels

We had a very relaxing and nice long weekend. Matt had to work all weekend so the kids and I just ventured between our house and grama's . My dad went on a mule ride saturday morning with Pa and some friends so Grama Ekker came to our house for a visit and lunch. When the guys got back from their ride they walked the kids around in the yard for a bit. They were in heaven!
Cowboy Brekk
Friday night we went to pick up my Mom, Kelsi and Ty to go watch Syd dance at the football game. While we were waiting Madi was playing on Ryter's two wheel bike in the backyard with Ty. Ty didn't know that she couldn't ride two wheels- he held on to the back of her bike while she got her balance and she took off. She has been going non stop ever since. She has only had two little wrecks and has gone on a couple little bike rides to grama's. I am so proud of her. I am happy to say that it was not much work on my part :)
Matt is hoping that this is a sign that she got his cordination and not mine. lol

Hives

Last Friday we had our first experience with hives. Brekker ate some cereal for breakfast and the had some fresh blueberries- which he eats all the time. And then he had some Mango gummy candy that Grampa B brought back from Japan. Shortly after the blueberries and candy, I started to notice a little red bump by his right ear that I thought was a misquito bite. He then got another one by his eye and the one by his ear doubled in size is less than a couple minutes. I asked my mother in-law if they could be hives and she said probably. I put some hydrocortizone cream on them and they went away. I then laid him down for his morning nap and when I went to get him, he looked like this.......

They were all over his body!!! I felt so bad for the little guy. I am so glad that my inlaws were there because my mom was in St. George and Matt was working. I probably- no there is no probably about it- I would have freaked out! I gave him some benadryl and they went right away. He ended up having them for over a week and we finally had ours first hive free day yesterday. We are still not for sure what cause the reaction. I am leaning toward the japan candy-who really know what was in it :)

"I wanna look HOT"

We were getting ready to go to Matt's Softball game so I sent Madi into change her clothes (She had been home with dad all day so she was still in her pajamas :) I went in to see if she needed help and she kept telling me "no" to the clothes that I had picked. She then said "I wanna look HOT!" Confused and a little taken back I then replied " Hot like cute hot or hot like warm clothes hot????" "No Mom, Hot like COOL hot." So this is what she demanded on wearing and the hat HAD to be side ways!
