I had a Little Chickie

My mom taught Madi this song and she absolutely loves it.

She sings it all the time to Brekker and he just smiles the whole

time. She sings it really fast so here are the words because she

is hard to understand. You will have to scroll down and pause my

music at the bottom of the page before you play the video.

"I had a little chickie and she wouldn't lay an egg,

so I poured hot water up and down her leg.

The little chickie haulered, the little chickie begged,

And she finally layed me a harded boiled egg."

Busy Weekend!

This last weekend we did alot of traveling and visiting family. Friday we drove to Grand Junction, CO to meet Pa and Grama Ekker (my grandparents). I was having shopping withdrawls and decided that it would be a great idea to meet Pa & Grama for a visit and squeeze some shopping in. So we loaded the kids up and drove 2 1/2 hrs to CO. Madi was so excited to see Pa & Grama. She already knows that she has them wrapped around her little finger. While walking through the mall Madi yelled "Stop Pa!" Pa turned around and she had stopped to look and some jewelry. Pa said "ah you don't need any of that, all you need is a cowgirl hat and rope." Madi replied back "and some cowgirl boots Pa!" So off we went to the "Cowgirl Store" to buy her a cowgirl hat and boots. Madi did all the picking herself and there was no talking her out of what she wanted. I have to admit, she makes a pretty cute cowgirl. We finished the day with lunch and headed back home. It was great to spend the day with my grandparents and great to see my kids have a close relationship with them and make memories to cherish.
Saturday the kids and I loaded up again and went to Wyoming to Matt's sisters house for cousin Avery's birthday party. Matt had to work so just the kids and I got to "enjoy" the drive. The kids do pretty well in the car but I think that I am pushing my luck with Madi because is seems she is getting less and less patient with it. We had a great afternoon in Rock Springs visiting with Matt's family. Madi and Avery had a blast playing with all the new toys and jumping in the swimming pool with there clothes on. They played so hard that they tired themselves out. I put the kids in their pj's and had a nice quite ride home :)

4 Months

Brekker had his 4 month check up last we
and is Definately a growing boy!
He was 18 lbs 10 oz and is
26 inches long.
The Dr said he is going to call him
Brick instead of Brekk :)
What a chub! But man do I love this chubby
boy. He is such a happy boy and smiles all
the time. He is so content and only cries when he's
hungry or wants snuggled to sleep. And watch out when
he's hungry because it is a loud, mad cry! :)
He loves Madi and watches her every move. Whenever
she walks into the room Brekk's face lights up. At times
I wonder how come he likes her so much because
she just smothers and picks on him :) It is so much fun to
watch them interact and love each other!

7 Years!

Today is our 7 year anniversary! I can't believe that
it has already been 7 years, what a wonderful journey
it has been. We decided to celebrate by taking a much
needed relaxing trip. We went camping in the Uintah's
for the weekend and had a great time.
Madi had so much fun that she did not
want to come home.
The kiddo's hanging out in the camp trailer
Madi and her boat, with her little rock family in it :)
Her boat reaching the finish line.
The winning celebration :)

We had a log boat race down the river and Matt
made Madi a fancy canoe. Madi was so cute that she gathered
4 rocks for her little family and named them: Dad, Mom, Madi and Brekker.
Unfortunately the rocks did not make it. Madi comforted me and said
"it's ok mom, they're not real!" What a character!

No better way to celebrate our life together then to spend it with the ones we love.
Happy Anniversary Matt! I Love You!
